Centre d'Alphabétisation Fonctionnelle (CAF)

The Centres d'Alphabétisation Fonctionnelle (CAF) and the Centres d'Education de Base Non Formelle (CENF) are private and public structures that come under the Ministry of Basic Education (MINEDUB). These structures were set up as part of the National Literacy Policy (Politique Nationale de l'Alphabétisation - PNA), the aim of which is to promote literacy within communities.

The Centres d'Alphabétisation Fonctionnelle (CAF) and the Centres d'Education de Base Non Formelle (CENF) offer the following training courses:

sewing
lingerie
official languages
international languages
use of ICT tools
