Competitive examinations EMIA

Renamed EMIA (Ecole Militaire InterArmées) in 2001 following the reform of the Cameroonian army, the EMIA was created in 1959 and inaugurated in 1961 under the name Ecole Militaire Interarmes du Cameroun (EMIAC). It is a public school for the military training and further training of officers.

Entry to the EMIA is by competitive examination. It takes place every year, almost always at the same time (February). The single examination centre is Yaoundé.

Training at the EMIA is subsidised by the State. The courses offered are as follows

Core A

Training lasts 3 years and requires a Baccalaureate or GCE Advanced Level.

Core B: military personnel

This course is designed for military personnel. It is divided into two parts:

B1: for military personnel with a baccalauréat or GCE AL
B2: for military personnel with a higher education diploma

Tronc C: higher education graduates

This one-year course is designed for higher education graduates.

To apply, you must be an engineer or hold another higher education qualification.

Core D: healthcare staff

The course lasts 1 year. To apply, you must hold a baccalauréat or the GCE AL.
