The receptionist is a person (woman or man) responsible for welcoming and guiding customers in the hotel sector. He/she must have highly developed interpersonal skills. This is because he/she is the customer's first contact with the accommodation establishment that employs him/her.

 

What are the receptionist's main tasks?

The receptionist's job is to:

  • welcome customers
  • informing customers about the services and facilities offered by the accommodation establishment;
  • manage departures, arrivals and the handing over of keys;
  • carry out daily bookkeeping, invoice services, collect bills and check deferred payments;
  • taking reservations;
  • coordinating the activities of the maintenance and/or catering staff to ensure that the services offered meet customers' needs;
  • Respond to customer complaints in a professional and prompt manner;
