The BEPC (Brevet d'Etudes du Premier Cycle) is an exam that marks the end of the first cycle of general education. Candidates are now mostly very young: teenagers aged 13 to 15... for the vast majority. After the CEP and the 6th grade entrance exam four years earlier, they will still have to face a national exam... a little tougher than the previous ones. How should they go about passing this BEPC exam with flying colors? What are the secrets to passing the BEPC with ease?

Throughout this article, we will present different attitudes and orientations that, if properly applied, would lead any BEPC candidate to easily pass their exam.

In the beginning... the desire to succeed

A BEPC candidate who wants to easily pass their exam must begin the school year with the desire and the firm intention of succeeding (moving to the next grade and obtaining their BEPC). Success begins on the first day of school!

Does this mean that if you spend the first few months dozing and refusing to review your lessons, you're doomed to fail? Not at all! In this month of April, less than two months before the written BEPC exam, there's still hope for everyone. What's needed is awareness and the will to succeed.

Are awareness and the will to succeed enough to pass your BEPC exam?

It's a start! This awareness and this will to succeed must be accompanied by actions, attitudes, and behaviors that inevitably lead to success. There are students who, even before the first day of school, have this firm desire to succeed. Others, for one reason or another, often take a long time to develop awareness and, subsequently, the will to succeed. It doesn't matter when, but you shouldn't wait until the last day to claim... awareness and the will to succeed. Don't they say, "You don't feed the chicken on market day"?

Don't believe in any miracle if you haven't taken the necessary steps for success in time. We know from experience that there are students who, counting on cheating, spend the entire school year wanting to do nothing right and who go to the exam room hoping to succeed. This type of student has a favorite arsenal: a "giraffe neck" that stretches in all directions in the composition room and piercing eyes that see far and wide with laser-like precision! Some rely on sitting behind or in front of students who apply themselves throughout the solar year. It doesn't matter whether they are in front of or behind them; they are fast, discreet, and efficient!

Dear students, don't count on cheating, in any form, to succeed. There is still time to do something good now and succeed. This is what we will present to you in the following.

Let's take action!

Succeeding in your BEPC exam involves assimilating the lessons taught by your teachers throughout the school year and being able to properly reproduce them when the time comes in the exam room.

How can you properly assimilate your lessons and reproduce them well during the exam? What state of mind should you be in? What attitudes and behaviors should you adopt?

If we had to summarize in a few words all the elements that contribute to success, we could use the following words: discipline, physical activity, rest, concentration, revision, and self-confidence.

Discipline

Discipline is the opposite of disorder. If you want to succeed in your BEPC exam, you must be disciplined and have a healthy lifestyle.

Discipline means having a healthy activity schedule that you stick to. When you go to sleep in the evening, you should already know what healthy activities you will do when you wake up the next day. Charter activities, the use of narcotics and drugs of all kinds, playing "kongossa," and disobedience at home and at school, for example, are not healthy activities.

Without limitation, participating in household chores, going to school, resting, reviewing lessons, playing sports (not violent sports, mind you!), and entertainment (reading, visiting a place, playing games that have no negative effects on the body, mind, or soul) can all be considered healthy activities. However, each activity must have a specific time allocated to it. Time is time!

Physical Activity

There is nothing better than a healthy body in a healthy mind. And physical activity contributes to this. Make time every day for physical exercise. It will do you a world of good and will allow you to properly assimilate your lessons after a rest.

Rest

Rest is essential for working well. Rest releases accumulated tension in the body and allows you to recharge your batteries. Sleeping in a quiet environment is an excellent way to rest well and recharge your batteries.

Remember to get enough sleep. Lack of sleep is dangerous for your health. It causes multiple problems.

Concentration

Don't be distracted. Concentration requires you to be attentive to everything you do. Whether in class, walking, in a taxi, at home, or playing, you must always be attentive.

Discipline and concentration always go hand in hand.

Assimilation and Review

Revision, exam simulation by working through past BEPC exams

Self-Confidence

Have confidence in yourself!

Have you adopted a certain discipline by following the recommendations we give you, the good advice from parents, teachers, and sometimes your peers? Be calm. You will succeed in your BEPC exam. Avoid stressing out.

Is this your first time taking the BEPC?

Then it will be relatively easy for you to pass your exam.

Have you already taken the BEPC at least once?

Don't worry, this time will be the right one. If you've taken the necessary steps, learned from your previous failure, and worked seriously and methodically, following the recommendations in this article and the advice of your teachers and parents, success is just around the corner. It's just a matter of time!
